This mustang was originally prepared for SCCA sedan racing using Shelby American racing parts, in 1966/67 by then owner, Jeff Ball.  Jeff went through 1967 SCCA Driver's school at CDR in Colorado with Walt Hane as his instructor.  After racing during 1967, Jeff sold car to Walt.
 
The car was completely restored in 1989 for Vintage Racing with original race parts and run at Elkhart Lake.  It was driven in Vintage Racing by Walt and his son, Chip Hane.  In 1997, Walt drove the car at Monterey in the Historic TransAm Group.  It was completely restored again with an authentic EPS-built engine and new paint then raced at the 2014 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion.

1967 Ford Mustang convertible, fondly known as "Sally . "   She is unique in that she has been in our garage since 1982.  She has minimal rust and the chassis and body are in above-average condition.  There's been some sheet metal repair in the engine compartment and battery tray area, along with the left rear quarter.  Her ODO is just under 130,000 miles.

This is a great project car for vintage Ford enthusiast looking to restore a 1960's Mustang!

The original "A" Code 289 engine has been completely rebuilt.  A fresh rebuilt C4 transmission and new torque converter are included.  Exterior is white with red interior.  Original seats included.  New bumpers front and back.  She has her original factory convertible top with rear folding glass window, although she does need new top fabric.

3,622 were built with 289-4V Engines, of which
2,341 came with Automatic Transmissions.
191 of them were painted Wimbledon White and
42 of those had Red Standard Bucket Seats.

3 were equipped with 3.00 Equa-Lok Rear Axles.
1 of them had 6.95X14 White Sidewall Tires.

Walt Hane started racing and winning in 1961. In late 1965, he got to race the Shelby GT350 R103. In November 1966, he drove it to the Sports Car Club of America National Championship at Riverside, California beating such heavy weights as Mark Donohue, below left.

In 2007, he and son, Chip Hane, co-drove Waltís original 1965 K Mustang to an overall victory against space-age and sports-racer cars at the RMVR Enduro in Pueblo Colorado, below right. Walt was only 79 years old then!

Walt drove the Coupe in two sessions. It was a lot of
fun for the olí 84 year old who hadnít raced in 3 years!
Using oxygen helped him achieve "peak" performance.

Chip won the TransAm sedan race in the Coupe.
